Christmas Short Stories

I got a copy a couple of years ago of A Very Southern Christmas. I pull it out now at Christmas. Though reviews at Amazon only give it three and a half stars, stories (like beauty) are in the eye, or ear of the be-reader. maybe it's just because I love short stories, but in any event it beginning to look a lot like you-know-what.

  1. One of my favorite Christmas stories I think transcends any region of the world. It's called Why the Chimes Rang. I've discovered you can download it for free onto the iPod, which my daughter and I now have. It's also found on the Internet, and I have printed out a hard copy of it. But I miss the hardbound very slim book that I once had that is illustrated so beautifully. There still is nothing like a print book with beautiful illustrations. But the story is wonderful no matter how it's presented. Maybe you've read it...

  2. Thank you for the info to this anthology! I've just read the reviews on amazon and the main complaint seems to be that it's far from happy-clappy Disney stories! Oh dear!! My favourite short stories to read over Christmas are ghost stories a la MR James!

    Take care

  3. Christmas ghost stories--and your favorite isn't you-know-what by you-know-who? Shame on you!
    Nevertheless, Merry Christmas.
