Elderly Folks

I spoke with a wonderful Texas lady the other day who was in an assisted living home (she had some information regarding some business interests). When we finished our business discussion we went into a casual conversation. Though I am no spring chicken she has several years on me. As I get older and older I understand more and more what the great value there is in age and its necessarily associated  wisdom.  So much is lost to home, family and society by, so often, relegating older people to the sidelines.

  1. This is so very true! Aren't there countries where the elderly are revered for their wisdom? It takes time and experience to get it.

    Well said!!

  5. Hi there, Ann suggested that I come over and here I am! I was surprized to find that I already know half of the folks following you. I like what I see here and if you don't mind, I'm going to tag along.

Now that that's out of the way... I totally agree with you, it's so sad that many members of the wisest and most experienced generation we have in this country, are considered a burden.

  8. Hi Paul. I came here from Ann's blog. Great to meet you in the blogosphere! And I agree that it's sad how much elderly people in our society are pushed to the sidelines. It's great to have people like you out here championing their cause.
